Rapid Prototyping Technology (R), also known as RP Technology, is a advanced manufacturing technology developed in recent years. Rapid prototyping technology originated in the United States in the 1980 of the 20th century, and quickly developed to Japan and Europe, a major breakthrough in manufacturing technology in recent years. Rapid prototyping is a digital forming technology based on discrete accumulation forming thought, and is the technology integration of CAD, NC technology, laser technology and material science and engineering. It can be automatically and quickly materialized as a prototype with certain structure and function, or directly manufactured parts, so that the product design can be evaluated quickly and modified to respond to market demand and improve the competitive ability of enterprises.
RP will cad, CAM, CNC, precision Servo drive, optoelectronics and new materials and other advanced technologies set in one, based on the CAD-structured product three-dimensional model, layered slices, to obtain the contours of each layer. According to these outlines, laser beams selectively spray, solidify a layer of liquid resin (or cut a layer of paper, or sintered a layer of powder material), or spray source selectively sprayed a layer of binder or hot-melt materials, forming each section, gradually superimposed into three-dimensional products. It simplifies a complex 3d machining into a series of two-dimensional machining combinations.
